SYNOPSIS

int catclose(
nl_catd cat_descriptor );
LIBRARY
Standard C Library (libc)
STANDARDS
Interfaces documented on this reference page conform to industry stan‐
dards as follows:
catclose(): XPG4
Refer to the standards(5) reference page for more information about
industry standards and associated tags.
PARAMETERS
Specifies a message catalog descriptor that was returned from a call to
the catopen() function.
DESCRIPTION
The catclose() function closes the message catalog identified by
cat_descriptor.
Before exiting, programs should close any message catalogs they have
opened.
If a program accesses several message catalogs, the NL_MAXOPEN number
of open catalogs can be reached. In this event, some message catalogs
must be closed before more can be opened.
NOTES
The cat_descriptor pointer is not valid once the catclose() function
has been called for that cat_descriptor.
RETURN VALUES
On successful completion, the catclose() function returns a value of 0
(zero). Otherwise, the function returns a value of -1. (The function
will return -1 if interrupted by a signal or if the catalog descriptor
is invalid.)
ERRORS
The catalog descriptor is not valid.
