NAME
       asctime - convert time to ASCII string

       ctime - convert time to ASCII string

       SYS$ASCTIM - Convert binary time to ASCII string

EXPLAINATION
       The Digital UNIX asctime and ctime functions are similar to the OpenVMS
       SYS$ASCTIM system service.  The asctime function converts a  tm	struc‐
       ture  into an ASCII string.  The ctime function converts a time_t value
       into an ASCII string as well.
