close - close file associated with a file descriptor

EXPLAINATION
The Digital UNIX close system call provides functionality similar to
the OpenVMS SYS$DASSGN system service. The close system call closes a
filesystem object, created by open, and associated with the descriptor
passed to close. The close system call will close objects created with
the socket system call as well.
