NAME
       gethostid - get unique system ID

       gethostname - get system name

       getpagesize - get system page size

       uname - get name and version of current system

       SYS$GETSYI - Get systemwide information

EXPLAINATION
       The  Digital  UNIX  gethostid  system  call  is similar to the Open VMS
       SYS$GETSYI system service.  The gethostid system call returns a	unique
       identifier  for current physical machine.  This is typically a machines
       internet address.  The gethostname system  call	returns	 the  hostname
       assigned to this machine.  The getpagesize system call returns the page
       size of the system.  The uname system call returns the  name,  release,
       version, and machine type of the current system.
