SYS$HIBER (OpenVMS) SYS$HIBER (OpenVMS)

NAME
pause - suspend a process until a signal is received

sigsuspend - atomically changes the set of blocked signals and waits
       for a signal

       SYS$HIBER - Hibernate process

EXPLAINATION
The Digital UNIX pause system call provides functionality similar to
the OpenVMS SYS$HYBER system service. The pause system call blocks the
process until a signal is received. The sigsuspend system call	atomi‐
cally sets the signal mask and blocks the process until a signal is
received. The sigpause	system	call just provides a compatibility
       interface to sigsuspend.
