NAME
       ipc_alloc - allocate ipc space

SYNOPSIS
       void * ipc_alloc(int size);

ARGUMENTS
       size
	   size desired

DESCRIPTION
       Allocate memory from the appropriate pools and return a pointer to it.
       NULL is returned if the allocation fails
