DESCRIPTION
Oneko displays a cat which chases your "mouse" cursor all over the
screen. Try moving the mouse in the middle of your screen and at the
edges, leaving it stationary, moving it slowly and quickly, etc., and
watch the cat respond.
The program was originally written by a Japanese author as a Macintosh
desktop accessory (The word "neko" means "cat" in Japanese).
OPTIONS
The following command-line options are supported by oneko:
-h makes oneko print a help message and exit.
-display display
specifies the X display on which the cat should appear.
-name command-name
specifies the program name. The directory which contains anima‐
tion bitmap files takes /usr/lib/X11/oneko/ command-name.
-neko Runs a cat. The directory which contains animation bitmap files
takes /usr/lib/X11/oneko/oneko. This is default.
-tora Make cat into "tora-neko". "Tora-neko" means cat wite tiger-
like stripe. I don't know how to say it in English. The direc‐
tory which contains animation bitmap files takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/tora.
-bsd_daemon
Runs a 4.3BSD daemon instead of a cat. The directory which con‐
tains animation bitmap files takes /usr/lib/X11/oneko/bsd.
-bsd Same as -bsd_daemon.
-bitmapdir directory
specifies the directory name which contains animation bitmap
files. You can use a set of bitmap patterns that you are
designed. It takes /usr/lib/X11/oneko/ command-name as default
value.
-kotatsubitmap bitmapfile
specifies a bitmap file name for "kotatsu". It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/kotatsu.xbm as default value.
-kotatsubitmask bitmapmask
specifies a bitmap mask file name for "kotatsu". It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/kotatsu_mask.xbm as default value.
-postbitmap bitmapfile
specifies a bitmap file name for mail post. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/post.xbm as default value.
-postbitmask bitmapmask
specifies a bitmap mask file name for mail post. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/post_mask.xbm as default value.
-maribitmap bitmapfile
specifies a bitmap file name for "mari". It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/mari.xbm as default value.
-maribitmask bitmapmask
specifies a bitmap mask file name for "mari". It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/mari_mask.xbm as default value.
-senderbitmap bitmapfile
specifies a bitmap file name for sender. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/sender.xbm as default value.
-senderbitmask bitmapmask
specifies a bitmap mask file name for sender. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/post_mask.xbm as default value.
-mousebitmap bitmapfile
specifies a bitmap file name for mouse cursor. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/cursor.xbm as default value.
-mousebitmask bitmapmask
specifies a bitmap mask file name for mouse cursor. It takes
/usr/lib/X11/oneko/cursor_mask.xbm as default value.
-speed speed
specifies the speed of the cat (the default is 16 pixels per
move).
-time interval
specifies the interval (in microseconds) between updates of the
cat (the default is 125000).
-idle pixels
specifies the maximum number of pixels the mouse can move while
the cat remains idle (the default is 6).
-fg color
specifies the foreground color of the cat.
-bg color
specifies the background color of the cat.
-kfg color
specifies the foreground color of the "kotatsu".
-kbg color
specifies the background color of the "kotatsu".
-pfg color
specifies the foreground color of the mail post.
-pbg color
specifies the background color of the mail post.
-mafg color
specifies the foreground color of the "mari".
-mabg color
specifies the background color of the "mari".
-sfg color
specifies the foreground color of the sender.
-sbg color
specifies the background color of the sender.
-mfg color
specifies the foreground color of the mouse cursor.
-mbg color
specifies the background color of the mouse cursor.
-tfg color
specifies the foreground color of the tip windows.
-tbg color
specifies the background color of the tip windows.
-tbd color
specifies the border color of the tip windows.
-noshape
tells oneko not to use the X shape extension to create its win‐
dow the same shape as the cat. If this option is specified (or
if your X installation does not support the shape extension),
then the cat will appear in a small rectangular window, and will
probably run slightly faster.
-nomouse
do not effect root cursor. If you don't specified this, mouse
cursor on root window changes to the "mouse".
-saveunder
tells oneko to use save under function.
-priority n
runs oneko at the specified priority (the default is 0).
-mail tells oneko to check if mail has come.
-update seconds
This option specifies the frequency in seconds at which oneko
should check new mail. The default is 60 seconds.
-file file_name
specifies the mail spool file for checking its' arrival.
-autoraise
catches VisiblityNotify events and raise oneko. Notice that
this option will cause to leave oneko on the screen even if
xlock or other screen lock programs are executed. By default,
oneko will be raised if you move the mouse cursor.
-mailaction program
set the command to invoke when mail arrives.
-popserver server
asks the pop server instead of cheking local mail spool.
-geometry geometry
set the mail post geometry at root window of X.
-kotatsu
tells oneko show the bitmap of kotatsu when oneko starts.
-kotatsugeometry geometry
set the "kotatsu" geometry at root window of X.
-sender
tells oneko show the bitmap of sender.
-multisender
tells oneko to show the multiple bitmaps of senders.
-sendergeometry geometry
set the sender geometry at root window of X.
-direction direction
set the direction to show the bitmaps of senders.
-mari tells oneko to use "mari" action.
-marispeed pixel
specifies the maximum speed of "mari" (the default is 24 pixels
per move).
-marinext percent
specifies the probability of next "mari" moving.
-mariaccel percent
specifies the acceleration of the speed when "mari" reflects at
the mouse cursor.
-maridecel percent
specifies the deceleration of the speed when "mari" reflects on
the bottom of the root window.
-gravity pixel
specifies the gravity for "mari" action (the default is 2).
-text strings
specifies the message to notify how many mails arrives in the
tip window. `%d' in the message will be replaced the number of
arrived mails.
-newtext strings
specifies the message to notify how many new mails arrives in
the tip window. `%d' in the message will be replaced the number
of arrived new mails.
-fn font_set
set the font set to display in the tip windows.
-space dots
specifies line spaces in the mail listing tip window.
-w num changes the default 80 columns to num for displaying the mail
