ORACLEASM-QUERYDISK(8) Oracle ASM Support Manual ORACLEASM-QUERYDISK(8)NAMEoracleasm-querydisk - Display information about ASM disks
SYNOPSIS
oracleasm querydisk [-l <manager>] [-v] [-d|-p] <label>|<device> ...
oracleasm querydisk -h
oracleasm querydisk -V
DESCRIPTION
The querydisk command queries ASM disks. It can display such
information as whether a disk exists with a given label, whether a
specific device is marked for ASM use, and what device a given label
corresponds to.
OPTIONS
-l|--manager <manager>
Specifies the manager device to be queried. Almost always
unnecessary, as only one manager device is in use.
-v|--verbose
Verbose operation. This will print any debugging information.
-d|--device
Display the device number for each queried label. Does nothing when
querying a device path.
-p|--paths
Display device paths for each queried label. Does nothing when
querying a device path. Requires the blkid(8) utility.
<label>
An ASM disk label to query.
<device>
A device path (eg, /dev/sda1) to query.
-h|--help
Display usage information.
-V|--version
Display version information.
EXAMPLES
oracleasm querydisk /dev/sda1
Display whether /dev/sda1 is marked for ASM use.
oracleasm querydisk -d VOLUME1
If the ASM disk VOLUME1 exists, display its device number.
oracleasm listdisks | xargs oracleasm querydisk -p
Determine device paths corresponding to each disk listed by
oracleasm listdisks. Requires the blkid(8) utility to be installed.
