SYNOPSIS
oracleasm renamedisk [-l <manager>] [-v] <label>|<device> <new_label>

DESCRIPTION
The renamedisk command changes the label on an ASM disk. This can also
be used to take raw disks used by ASM and add labels to them. The
Oracle ASM Library can only see ASM disks with labels.
WARNING
Changing the label of an disk marked for ASM is a very dangerous
operation. If this is really what you mean to do, you must ensure that
all Oracle and ASM instances have ceased using this disk. Otherwise,
you may LOSE DATA.
OPTIONS
-l|--manager <manager>
Specifies the manager device to be queried. Almost always
unnecessary, as only one manager device is in use.
-v|--verbose
Verbose operation. This will print any debugging information.
<label>|<device>
The disk to rename. It may be specified by DEVICE path or by its
LABEL.
<new_label>
The new LABEL.
-h|--help
Display usage information.
-V|--version
Display version information.
EXAMPLES
oracleasm renamedisk VOL1 VOL2
Rename the disk VOL1 to VOL2
oracleasm renamedisk /dev/sda1 VOL2
Rename the device /dev/sda1 as VOL2
