STR$FIND_FIRST_NOT_IN_SET (OpenVMS) STR$FIND_FIRST_NOT_IN_SET (OpenVMS)
NAME
strtok - split string into tokens
STR$FIND_FIRST_NOT_IN_SET - Find first character not occurring in set
EXPLAINATION
The Digital UNIX strtok function provides functionality similar to the
OpenVMS STR$FIND_FIRST_NOT_IN_SET string manipulation routine. The
strtok function is usually called more than once. The first time it is
passed the string to search and the set of characters. It then returns
a pointer to the first character that is not in the set of characters
listed in the set. It also CHANGES the original string passed to it by
substituting the second character it finds that is not in the set with
a nul character. Thus the pointer it returns can be used as if it is a
normal string. The second time strtok is called to extract a second
token from the same string it should be passed a NULL pointer as the
first parameter (which tells strtok function to continue searching the
same string). The strtok function returns a NULL pointer if it is
unable to locate a new token.
