NAME
       uucpd - Manages communications between the uucp program and TCP/IP

SYNOPSIS
       /usr/sbin/uucpd

DESCRIPTION
       The uucpd daemon enables uucp connections through the Transmission Con‐
       trol Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP).  This  daemon  handles  the
       login  of  uucp	connections  and  starts  uucico  to  process the uucp
       requests.

       The uucpd daemon is started by the inetd daemon.	 Make  sure  that  the
       entry  for  uucp exists in the /etc/inetd.conf file. If the entry has a
       comment character at the beginning of the line,	remove	the  character
       and restart the inetd daemon.

FILES
       Specifies  the command path Directory containing the uucp configuration
       files Contains information about available devices Contains access per‐
       mission	codes  for remote systems Lists accessible remote systems Con‐
       tains the hostname table used by TCP/IP The default configuration  file
       for  the	 inetd	daemon.	  Defines  Internet socket assignments used by
       TCP/IP
